Hobbiton Movie Set Tours is a successful tourism operation just out of Matamata that welcomes thousands of New Zealand and overseas visitors to its operation each year. We currently have two venues on site, the Green Dragon Inn which caters for inbound groups and functions and the Shires Rest which hosts our independent travellers and smaller groups. We also cater for special events and functions.
The Role
We are looking for a Full Time Permanent Chef de Partie for an immediate start. Your responsibilities may include:
- Ensuring sufficient preparation has been completed for each service
- Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are being met
- Ensuring all work spaces are kept clean and tidy
- Assisting with the coordination of group bookings and functions
- Ensuring a high quality and level of consistency for all food served
We are looking for someone who -
- Enjoys working in a busy, fast paced environment
- Has a minimum of two years' experience in a busy kitchen or culinary qualifications
- Is excited by the idea of being part of one of New Zealand's most successful tourism businesses
- Is punctual, reliable and dedicated
- Can work well in a team and individually
- Is willing to go the extra mile for a positive result
- Has excellent communication skills
- Can work different shifts and weekends
Reliable transport is required due to the rural location of the Set.
