Candidates for the Graveyard Cook / Kitchen Steward will preferably have previous experience in a similar role, in a hotel environment. You will be an enthusiastic, dynamic team player with the drive to make a difference. You will need to be physically fit, reliable and responsible.
Hours involved are 11pm to 7am the following morning Monday - Sunday approx 40 hours a week.
This is what is classified as a graveyard shift with the night owl hours involved. It is roll where you require maturity, stamina, common sense, previous kitchen cook experience of at least one year is preferable. There will be a lot of cleaning involved as well as team coordination skills.
The following criteria are also essential:
- Basic cooking and food safety knowledge
- A positive personality and professional attitude
- Strong ability to follow instructions clearly
- Culinary certificate and qualification is preferred
The Steward role is crucial to the effective operation of our kitchen. This role will also focus on providing support to our kitchen team, duties may include but are not limited to basic food preparation; grating, peeling, chopping, preparing batters, garnishes and seasonings.
