An opportunity has arisen within the Eastern Bay of Plenty for an experienced Registered Health Professional with a minimum of 2 years' postgraduate experience in addiction and/or community mental health. Registered Nurses must have a Scope of Practice which includes Mental Health. This position is to work within the Bay of Plenty Addiction Service, specifically within the Alcohol and other Drug Team. This position is based in Whakatane.
 
The applicant will be able to work both independently and as a team member and it is an expectation that the applicant be competent in all facets of triage and intake coordination, case management, including comprehensive risk assessments, and mental status examination. It is also expected that you would have excellent interpersonal skills and have a strong client focus; maintaining cultural awareness, and safe practice. You will be required to maintain strong links with all mental health and addiction sector agencies in the Eastern BOP.
 
There is an expectation that you would be able to provide harm reduction, brief interventions and carry a small case load of clients.
