Take the lead on Napier City’s infrastructure including three waters
Napier City Council is in the midst of an exciting period of positive change. Their plans for city enhancement are evident in their long-term plan, and there are some major projects on the horizon. Arguably their balance sheet is one of the largest in the region – and with that comes a career exposure to asset management and operational activity of significant scale.
This is an excellent leadership opportunity for someone accomplished in asset and change management. This talented and committed infrastructure team of guys and girls are determined to optimise Napier City and all it offers its residents and visitors.
Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the Manager of Asset Strategy will oversee the strategic planning and management of Napier City’s infrastructure networks. There is already a rock solid strategic direction. You will be the one who steps in and owns it. Your remit will span three waters, roading, parks & reserves and sportsgrounds. Leading a large team and large capital works budget, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective coordination and integration of all asset management planning, programme development, and asset related operational delivery.
Knowledge of three waters and/or property or roading infrastructure is highly desirable but it will be your leadership and Asset management expertise and experience relevant to local government that will be most important here. That doesn’t mean you have to have worked in a council - any infrastructure related environment where you have lead people through the change required to assure optimal asset management could serve you well here. Either way NAMS and IIMM will be second nature. You will have a proven record in developing and implementing asset management strategy, policy and plans. Knowledge of project management practices and of relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice is also a must. In terms of personal and leadership qualities, you will know how to embrace and lead people through change.
