Visa Services within Immigration NZ is part of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).  The purpose of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is to Grow New Zealand for All.  Our goal is to create a strong and high-performing environment that supports businesses to become more productive and internationally competitive.

Visa Services 2020 is a two year programme to align and consolidate visa processing, drive applicants to online services, provide a better customer self-service experience and simplify processes for Visa Services, which forms part of the wider Immigration NZ.  This is an ambitious programme of work that will create a number of new opportunities across the Visa Services group as we transition over the coming years.  We have a position available as an Assurance Advisor based in our Poriua office.

The Assurance Advisor works closely with the Practice Lead and provides an overarching office audit lens for the Head of Operations and is responsible for the code of conduct, fraud compliance, and integrity of on and offshore checking systems.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting internal Office Audits and reporting
  • Provide internal assurance (code of conduct, collusion, fraud compliance)
  • Coordinates the site risk register and business continuity plan (BCP)
  • Ensures development models and training are kept up to date
  • Contributes to office quality assurance monitoring and outcomes analysis

 

To be successful in the role you will have demonstrated experience working with quality assurance frameworks and tools, coupled with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, preferably gained in complex operational environments.

 

You will have experience in:

  • Leading integrity awareness
  • Reviewing site compliance against internal assurance processes
  • Undertaking analysis and sharing feedback regarding risk rules, trends and areas for improvement.
  • Maintaining independent oversight of design and health of the internal audit systems
  • Assisting in managing incident and internal investigations.
  • Managing system related issues e.g. fee waivers and refunds, label reconciliation, password access, AMS access audits, office access audits. Performing Random QCs and spot checks to provide assurance of the integrity of the system.
