Are you looking for a senior leadership opportunity in the transportation sector where you can help motivate others, build relationships, and have a direct impact on the New Plymouth District and Community? Then this is the role for you!
As the Manager Transportation, you will be responsible for delivering a significant work schedule of transport solutions, including subsidised and non-subsidised road transportation programmes, within an annual operating budget of 21million. You will lead three direct reports, who are also leaders in their own fields, with an overall team FTE of 14. As the road transportation network is an essential service to the community, there will opportunities to interact with all areas of Council.
You will have a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, as you work collaboratively with key stakeholders such as NZTA, Iwi, TRC, Regulators, Consultants, Contractors, customers and businesses. You will be a natural innovative thinker, seeking to find best value solutions balanced with the expectations of the community.
Ideally you will come to us with a tertiary qualification in Engineering, an Engineering New Zealand membership and proven leadership experience. Complex budgeting and political acumen will be second nature to you. You will enjoy working with a varied group of people, with great communication and interpersonal skills, tact, and a passion for promoting all things road transportation, including sustainable and active travel.
