Site Weld NZ Ltd is an engineering business providing a quality service to the South Island.

We are based in Dunedin and deliver a wide range of services to our mining, industrial, heavy transport and marine clients and are regularly involved in Health and Safety solutions for all of our customers - at the end of the day we all want to go home safely to our loved ones.

We are looking for qualified Fitters / Welders / Fabricators (or industry skilled). You must have experience in fabrication and site work. You must be able to read plans / shop drawings and be able to work on your own and perform the following tasks:

  1. Strive to always meet and exceed the customers’ expectations
  2. Plan, layout, fabricate, assemble, install and repair metal parts, equipment and products, utilizing a knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining, and layout techniques.
  3. Use hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment. Read and interpret drawings, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products.
  4. Select gauge and type of sheet metal such as galvanized iron, copper, steel or aluminum.
  5. Layout and mark dimensions and reference lines on material using scribers, dividers, squares and rulers.
  6. Apply knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques to develop and trace patterns to product or parts (or use templates).
  7. Trim, file, grind, de-burr, buff and smooth surfaces, using hand tools or portable power tools.
  8. Weld, solder, bolt, rivet, screw, clip, caulk and bond component parts to assemble products, using hand tools, power tools, and equipment.

 

We are looking for staff to go on our Roster System, currently 4 days on/4 days off or 7 days on / 7 days off.  Or alternately our normal business hours being Monday to Friday and regular overtime.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • 3 years’ experience in the industry;
  • no Criminal Records; and
  • must consent to pre-employment drug testing.
