Bathurst Resources is New Zealand’s largest specialist coal company. We produce over 2.2 million tonnes of coal each year and proudly employ over 450 people.
We are currently seeking a motivated person to be part of a growing team of friendly and professional people at our Rotowaro Mine, in the role as:
Environmental Coordinator
The mine is located in the Rotowaro coal field, an area that has had a long history of both open cast and underground mining. Reporting to the Environmental Manager, the Environmental Coordinator will ensure that mining and related activities at Rotowaro and Maramarua Mine are carried out in accordance with the relevant resources consents and permit requirements .
Key requirements:
- Undertake regular site environmental inspections and document site environmental performance
- Continually educate selected site personnel on environmentally responsible work practices
- Manage data collection, input and reporting
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Relevant degree in Environmental Sciences, Resource Management
- Five years experience in Environmental, Resource Management, Natural Resources Science and/or Mining Resources Management
- Report writing skills
- Intermediate expertise in database use
