What’s in it for you?
This is an opportunity to work as the Health, Safety and Environment lead and expert across multiple branches or contracts in our Transport and construction division in Hamilton. It's a chance gain experience across maintenance and construction, to build strong relationships with your local stakeholders, to grow HSE knowledge and make improvemenets to HSE culture within the operations teams and help to improve their HSE performance. You will also be joining a large, global organization with sophisticated HSE systems and processes where HSE goals are front and centre.
 

You:
You are an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Advisor, preferably with a background in construction or transport operations and maintenance. You have a strong but diplomatic personality and enjoy building strong relationships that create a platform for coaching and mentoring operations managers in relation to HSE issues. You are energetic and thrive on the challenge of juggling multiple tasks. You have a strong understanding of HSE implications in relation to heavy plant and machinery.
 

The Role:
In this role you will provide leadership, advice and support for operational compliance to HSE policy and processes. You will also coach and mentor operational line managers and staff in the development and application of their HSE knowledge. The role is predominantly field-based and your activities will also include site audits, incident investigation, tool box training, updating of HSE plans in response to legislation/policy changes and generation of monthly reports
 

Qualifications and Advantages:

  • Minimum of Cert IV HSE
  • Safety System Audit qualifications will be advantageous.
  • Valid full Driver’s Licence Class 1.
  • Either operations or HSE related experience in the construction industry will be advantageous.
  • Training in, and an understanding of Traffic Management will be advantageous

 

Short-listed candidates must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical, which includes a drug and alcohol test and a Ministry of Justice check.
