A Senior Leadership role, General Manager New Business, has become available in our Infrastructure Projects business. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, the General Manager New Business focus is to identify, shape, facilitate and drive new business opportunities for Downer Infrastructure Projects, aligned to Downer’s strategic objectives and operational capabilities, leading to sustainable revenue growth. In this role you will develop new business work streams across the infrastructure sector throughout New Zealand and the Pacific, while developing strategic and sustainable relationships within the industry acting as a thought leader to customers, government bodies, industry forums and working groups. Key to your success will be your ability in project pipeline planning and management, manage multiple bid teams resulting in forwarded secured work. Working closely with the General Manager New Zealand & Pacific and operational teams within Downer, you will develop and implement plans that will positively deliver business, commercial and relationship outcomes for Downer.
To be considered for this role you will have extensive experience in new business development at a senior leadership level and be successful in securing mid to large tier infrastructure projects. You will have demonstrated ability working within in a contract environment, predominantly within civil infrastructure projects, and have deep industry relationships and connections with key stakeholders across local and central government along with external partners and customers. Naturally you will be a strong leader who has proven negotiation and influencing skills, exceptional communication ability and sound commercial acumen.
