The purpose of the role is to own and deliver the training capability for Airport Operations (Airfield / Landside) Officers and Customer Service staff.

Key functions in this role:

  • Deliver training that builds capability in the skills of all Airport Operations (Airfield / Landside) Officers and Customer Service staff
  • Deliver training in Regulatory requirements, Operations, Customer Service, Staff Development, People Management (in conjunction with People and Capability), Security, AAA, Health and Safety and other training as required
  • Conduct workplace assessments against competency criteria.
  • Coach and mentor staff from new starters
  • Conduct workplace skills audits to identify any non-compliance or performance gaps and develop/implement remedial training as necessary
  • Develop and oversee all induction training including ensuring documented training plans are in place and kept up to date for all new employees for the initial 12 weeks of employment
  • Ensure that the plans are specific, measurable, achievable and realistic (S.M.A.R.T)
  • Able to provide the key business stakeholders with Subject Matter Expertise and recommendations from a training perspective

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Ideally a minimum of four years' experience working in the Airport Operations team or similar diverse / busy environments.
  • Sound understanding of adult learning principles
  • Experience in developing and delivering training modules along with training needs assessments
  • A subject matter expert within the Operation Performance and Delivery team with proven technical, practical and interpersonal capability
  • The stature, knowledge, personality and communication skills to rapidly gain credibility with managers, and to influence key decision makers
  • Leadership skills with the ability to coach and provide feedback to senior managers, combined with the ability to build strong networks with key stakeholders
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • An ability to plan, organise and coordinate large scale events in a highly pressurised (emergency) environment
