Role Title

Customer Service & Loan Set Support (South Island, NZ)

Christchurch, New Zealand

Summary

To provide an effective interface between Smith & Nephew and its customers. To receive, inspect and dispatch instruments and devices including loan kits.

This role is responsible for providing support to a market-leading range of Healthcare products within the fields of Advanced Surgical Devices and Advanced Wound Management. Key customers include public and private hospitals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Determining and fulfilling customer requirements (includes processing of customer orders, providing information on products, availability, pricing etc.) This function involves a great deal of liaison with Divisional staff, internal operational staff and freight carriers, etc.
  • Supporting field sales staff by efficient communication of relevant information and response to requests
  • Pick, pack, check and receive all stock, including loan sets
  • Receive process and dispatch loan set/ kit returns and ensuring they are intact and in condition to be re-issued in a timely manner
  • Quality inspection of returned material/ equipment.
  • Identify and confirm status of returned material/ equipment in SAP
  • Decontamination processing of returned equipment
  • Assist with stock rotation of inventory and remove expired items where necessary
  • Identify discrepancies in bookings, ensuring Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) takes place on all occasions to minimise Company risk
  • Perform domestic & International shipping duties and ensure delivery information is communicated to relevant departments
  • Manage the daily running of the warehouse ensuring all bookings are completed in a timely manner in order to meet branch surgery dates

Education

  • Diploma level and above desirable

Experience

  • Proven experience and success track record in a similar customer service and/or loan set/kit officer role
  • Exposure to the medical industry and devices preferred
  • Experience in CSSD desirable

Technical Knowledge & Competencies

  • Good understanding of the order fulfillment process in NZ public and private healthcare facilities
  • Good understanding of warehousing and transportation methodologies
  • Sound knowledge in SAP
  • Training in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)/ Good Warehousing Practices (GWP), desirable
  • Good computer proficiency in MS Office
  • Good numerical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Superior customer focus
  • Ability to establish and foster long-term relationships with internal and external customers
  • Able to work without direct supervision
  • Can use initiative and follow instructions accurately
  • Being physically capable of being on feet for several hours a day
  • Being able to lift and shift heavy items
  • Demonstrate good mechanical comprehension and hands on ability with surgical instruments
