The club is growing and moving into fantastic new facilities. With the increase in popularity of water sports in New Zealand, this is an exciting time to be part of the RAYC.

The Role

The role will be responsible for leading all RAYC commercial aspects including establishing and managing budgets and developing further markets, alongside contributing in a professional and positive manner to RAYC business strategy and operations as a member of the senior leadership team.

The Detail

  • Develop and implement the overall marketing and profitable commercial strategy
  • Manage Academy P&L
  • Develop product and service value propositions and USP’s for each market
  • Develop and manage RAYC sponsorship partnerships
  • Identify new market and product opportunities
  • Recommendations for RAYC product and service enhancements
  • Development of product and service pricing, and discount policies
  • Articulate marketing strategy and provide product and service sales training
  • Co-ordinate external and internal resources for RAYC communications
  • Lead the implementation of RAYC product and service strategies
  • Any other duties as necessary

About You

You will need to have the following experience and skillset to be considered for the role:

  • At least 7 years commercial experience
  • Affinity and/or knowledge of sailing and marine sports beneficial
  • Direct Profit and Loss management experience
  • Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated commercial management experience
  • Strong professional commercial management skills
  • Proven excellent cross functional leadership skills
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), teamwork/teambuilding, and interpersonal skills required
  • Able to build constructive working relationships with staff, clients and suppliers at all levels
  • Cross functional project management skills
  • Proven value creation expertise
