Rotorua Community Hospice is the centre of excellence for hospice palliative care for the Rotorua Community. The care they provide for patients is holistic, caring for not just their physical needs but also their emotional, spiritual and social needs too.

The Chief Executive in concert with the Clinical Director is responsible for leading the delivery of free quality palliative care for patients and their families/whanau, whilst ensuring the long term development and sustainably sustainability of Hospice services to the community.

You will support the Board in developing and implementing the strategic plan, provide leadership to hospice staff (24) and volunteers (circa 90) and ensure the ongoing sustainability of the organisation through prudent financial management and fundraising.

Maintaining and enhancing the Hospice profile through exceptional relationship management and promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement will also be key to your success in this special leadership opportunity.

  • Ability to think strategically, articulate and implement a vision
  • A confident leader with the ability to drive and encourage performance and best practice
  • Demonstrated financial and people management expertise
  • Commercial acumen and well developed negotiation skills
  • High emotional intelligence and self-awareness
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for successful completion of deliverables  
  • A natural relationship builder who instils confidence at all levels, both internally and externally to the organisation
