About the company
Ōtākaro Limited takes a vital leadership role in the regeneration of Christchurch. Funded by the Crown, Ōtākaro is a commercially-focussed company charged with overseeing the delivery of key central city projects – both vertical and horizontal - and the divestment of specific Crown assets. A recent change in the leadership team at Ōtākaro has led to a vacancy for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and we need a talented and experienced executive to join the team.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and leading the finance and IT functions; the CFO takes overall accountability for management of the financial performance of the organisation and the smooth and efficient operation of the organisation’s technology systems. In doing this, the CFO will:
- Participate as an active member of the Leadership Team and contribute to the development and implementation of astute business and functional strategies;
- Provide strong leadership to the finance and IT teams; inspiring high performance, creating engaged individuals and teams and driving results;
- Proactively engage and manage positive relationships with a range of key stakeholders – including Treasury and DPMC;
- Ensure the organisation is in a position to meet all of its statutory obligations; and
- Ensure all operating systems are fit for purpose and support the needs of the organisation.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled financial professional, a Chartered Accountant and ideally you would have developed your commercial accounting career in combination with your skill in relationship management. An exceptional leader and proven executive; you will inspire performance in your team and confidently contribute to discussions with wide ranging strategic and operational impacts with the Board, Chief Executive Officer and your colleagues. A strong communicator with the ability to influence outcomes; you will understand the importance in developing effective stakeholder relationships inside and external to your organisation.
