This New Zealand owned Manawatu based construction company is one of the leading construction companies in the region. It is involved in commercial construction, schools, residential, transportable homes, and civil services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a person to step up to a General Manager position. With a great reputation and relationships that others envy, this is an excellent role for someone looking for that progression to their career.
Purpose
To drive the company through the next stage of its development. There is a commitment to grow the business to the next level with the potential for the right person to take an equity stake and share in the rewards of their own efforts.
The role will report to the Managing Director and involve:
- The strategic direction - bringing a high level of business acumen, experience and focus
- Relationship management to improve delivery and performance and to grow the client base in line with the strategic direction of the business
- Administrative planning and optimizing program delivery, including resource requirements, so that all jobs can be delivered on time, in full, as agreed
- Managing the human resources and supporting experienced team leaders
- Day to day financial management of operational revenues, expenses and reporting
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements
Ideally you will have broad exposure to all of those facets that make a successful business tick. Experience in sales and the construction industry would be an advantage.
Additionally, someone who is an excellent communicator with customers, staff and suppliers with the ability to develop, plan and execute to a timeframe and budget would be a positive.
