The company:
We have an exciting sales role at our Hastings branch that sits under our dtr brand. dtr provides personal loans and hire purchase finance through 23 branches nationwide.
dtr traces its origins back to 1962 as single television rental store. Since then the business the business has grown into a substantial finance company with several brands, including dtr, all operating under Thorn Finance as the parent company. During that time we have approved over 350,000 finance applications and counting.
Today, we offer consumers the opportunity to buy major appliances on weekly payment options through our dtr retail network (dtr.co.nz) , we provide personal loans through the easi-cash brand (easicash.co.nz) and Thorn Finance brand (www.thornfinance.co.nz). We also offer finance for business through a commercial partner LeasePlus. We also offer a free service How’s My Credit (howsmycredit.co.nz) that helps consumers understand and improve their credit score.

For our Salesperson role, you must demonstrate a passion for customer service. Your communication and interpersonal skills are critical to your success in our business. We are a customer oriented business who takes pride in the fact our customers relate to us personally and sometimes drop by just to say hi. You need to be a great team player with the ability to learn quickly. The ability to work well and accurately in a pressured environment and show compassion and respect to all our customers is paramount.
This is a business where we build lasting relationships with customers. Often, through referrals, their friends and family become customers too. Our service is that good! We take pride in the fact our customers relate to us personally and sometimes drop by just to say hi. dtr believe in a fair go for everyone. We look to provide a moment of brightness to all our customers!
The person:
Our sales people come from variety of backgrounds. Retail experience helps, but we are open to type of sales experience. This role requires some heavy lifting, computer literacy, and basic administrative skills. The stores are tight knit teams so an ability to become an integral part of a small team would be a help.
