Detail information about job Integration Leadership. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • One year fixed term appointment, with potential extension
  • Lead a number of critical, interlinked work programmes
  • Leadership experience gained in large service delivery organisations

The Fire Services Review has been described as ‘a once in a generation opportunity to modernise the fire services’. A key outcome was the Government’s decision to create a unified fire services organisation, with the urban, rural and volunteer fire services merged.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) came in existence on the 1st July 2017. The new organisation is already better placed to support firefighters and meet community needs, ensuring delivery of ‘integrated fire and emergency services for a safer New Zealand’. Ongoing change is required on multiple fronts however, to achieve full and effective integration.

The Director, Integration Programme leads the next phase of one of New Zealand’s most significant programmes of change. The position’s primary purpose is to lead a number of critical, interlinked work programmes and to shape, drive and communicate throughout this process. As well as leading over 100 staff within the Integration Programme Directorate, the role is also an integral member of the Strategic Leadership Team, reporting to the FENZ Chief Executive.

This mandate encompasses cultural change and organisational development, as well as integration of operational, financial and technology systems. A significant area of focus will be working collegially and communicating effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

To lead this transition programme effectively, you will have had exposure to leading ‘big change’ involving both complexity and scale. Leadership experience gained in large service delivery organisations within government or the commercial sector will be closely considered. The position is structured as a one year fixed term appointment, with potential extension.

This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a significant, holistic programme of integration, which will see a critically important organisation further strengthened and trusted for its ability to serve New Zealanders.

Confidential enquiries and applications should be directed to Guy Brew or Grant Pryde at Ichor Leadership Search by 5.00pm on Friday, 20 July 2018. Contact us via email at [email protected] or telephone: +64 4 499 8230.
