As a Sales Support in our Sales team, you will help develop and nurture strong, profitable and long-term client relationships through regular customer interaction, feedback any market or competition information to the organization, assist in meeting team budgeted volume and yield targets through the use of the sales tools provided, support Sales Executives' activities in terms of preparing tenders, service and rate proposals, address invoice disputes proactively to minimize their occurence and reduce outstanding payments, and meet sales effectiveness KPIs based on customer interaction and recording business opportunities.

This role reports directly to the Sales Support Manager in New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

Support Services to Sales Executives

  • Manage and respond to pricing, service and general information enquiries in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Prepare and deliver tender documents and client service / rate proposals within stated timelines.

Developing Customer Relationships

  • Build strong business relationships with clients.
  • Be an integral part of the sales team helping to manage all client related initiatives.

Sales and Contract Maintenance

  • Prepare and maintain client data files as necessary.
  • Accurately reflect sales agreements in MARS. 
  • Actively engage in sales related IT and business process improvement initiatives and ensure timely and accurate updates of crucial sales support systems such as MARS, Insight and SCV.
  • Actively contribute to full vessel capacity utilization, participate in volume drives or campaigns as needed and ensure targets are met.
  • Ensure all closed won business is booked and shipped.
  • Follow pricing guidelines and parameters for the individual trades and adhere to the relevant regulatory matters. Ensure relevant information provided by your manager is reflected in customized client solutions.
  • Achieve nil disputes on rates you have filed. Any disputes, you are to actively drive the disputes process to ensure corrective action taken and educate offenders.
  • All genuine business opportunities to be logged in Insight and qualified.
  • Ensure service delivery tasks are handled by the correct department. Ensure your customers know who their key contact is within each department and when required, organize joint calls.

Teamwork

  • Actively participate in Sales meetings. Weekly attendance and participation required.
  • Teamwork KPI to be achieved. Positively contribute to the sales team and work with team members to achieve team goals.

  • Previous sales support or customer facing work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • High attention to details 
  • Must have a can-do and positive attitude
  • Organized and willing to go the extra mile
  • Proficient in MS office applications
  • Ability to adapt to different scenarios
  • Ability to deal with various stakeholders
  • Must be eligible to work on a permanent basis in New Zealand
