Detail information about job Cutomer Service Representative. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • Local business, Global Brand
  • Broad range of technical products
  • Champion Customer Service

You'll become a key member of the team, based in the Auckland office of this long standing, local business. Recently joining forces with a larger, global group, they are now well placed to take the next step in their successful journey. Put simply, this role – in fact this team - is basically responsible for the day to day customer support functions across the New Zealand operations, from the main "hub" in Auckland. The focus is on taking the weight from the sales and technical teams this role supports, and acting as the champion for the customer. It's a busy office with a vast product portfolio and large customer base, on the one hand supplying replacement parts and service, on the other being the first line of technical support and advice.

Playing a key role in the team, you'll be expected to deliver real value by maintaining and improving customer relationships, providing support on queries and questions to customers, supporting the external teams when required and, importantly, bringing your own character and personality to the business. They are not looking for robots! Carrying supplies and parts from over 40 different brands certainly brings variety, and you'll be expected to become familiar with the range to really support the customer. It goes without saying that you will utilise the systems and processes that support the business, and ensuring the utmost quality is consistently delivered to both internal and external stakeholders. You'll be the pivotal person on all aspects of managing the administration and processing of customer requests, and be the face of the business "front of house", as well as its voice when people call in.

You're going to be exposed to all areas of the business, and must be able to create relationships with key customers, and team members, providing informed support in a manner which adds value to the customer. You'll have a natural ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines for customers, and also the presence of mind to highlight potential issues or problems before they become issues, and to resolve them quickly if they do. You can probably already feel just how pivotal this role is - creating value by carrying the load and just making things happen for the customer.

This is a hands-on position and it is one that is expected to make a positive impact in the business.  What we're really after is a person with strong broad-based customer service skills, technical aptitude to deal with the customer base, someone used to stepping in and stretching the boundaries of their role as part of a push to make things work more efficiently. You'll certainly enjoy working with a diverse and interesting customer base.

Working across this customer base, which is primarily agricultural and industrial, it would be beneficial (BUT not essential) to have had some hands-on experience of industrial/agricultural equipment. You'll have a retentive memory, can work comfortably and positively with staff and clients at all levels, and will not be afraid to get your hands dirty if required – your customers, and colleagues, will respect that. You communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, can handle pressure at each times and are driven to get things right, first time. You can juggle conflicting priorities of multiple customers, have consistently high standards, follow through strongly and just don't let things go.

In return? The opportunity to join a long standing and forward-thinking organisation which is focussed not only on its customers, but also on making a difference in developing the careers of its employees. Recognising and valuing its employees, the business promotes career development, opportunities to grow exist across the business (and wider Group), and you'll be both encouraged and supported to reach your full potential.

Interviews will be held locally in Auckland.
