The Organisation

The YMCA employs around 700 employees across Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga. With a diverse range of operations including facility management, health and fitness, early childhood education, OSCAR, accommodation, outdoors, recreation, aquatic, fundraising, education and youth programme they provide something for everyone.

The Position:

As a result of internal growth a new opportunity has arisen for a HR Manager to lead, drive and manage the HR function delivering expertise and leadership around people management practices, policies and procedures. Reporting to the General Manager of People & Culture, this position will be critical in implementing strategy to achieve organisational goals and objectives.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Generalist HR experience within large or complex organisations
  • The ability to meet conflicting needs to achieve positive outcomes
  • Strong technical experience 
  • Proven people leadership background
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Excellent communication skills with an up-beat and can-do attitude
