We are currently recruiting for a Senior HR professional who will be responsible for driving both the design and implementation of a “people strategy” that will enhance company growth and establish a clear and purposeful culture. This is a newly created role, and as such you will have the creative licence to build something unique and inspiring ;finding ways to lead and influence from the front is important!

Along side your Culture focus, we are looking for someone who will provide both operational and transactional support to employees and leaders across a wide range of HR functions including but not limited to; general HR advice and guidance, employment relations, training and development, performance management, retention strategies, employee engagement, and adhoc HR administration.

Furthermore, this position has an added bonus of being able to mentor and develop an HR professional who will form the bones of your small team. If you have previous experience developing an HR team and building capability, consider this a bonus to your application! If you have 8+ years of HR management and leadership experience, if you’re passionate about people and culture and enjoy designing and implementing strategy then this exciting opportunity may be for you.

To have an impact in this role you will need to be:

  • Tertiary qualified in Human Resources
  • A value based HR professional who brings a focus on culture, development and people; while still being commercial and future focused.
  • Capable of demonstrating experience in independent management of HR Strategy
  • Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships and influence a collaborative approach
  • Excited and energised by a challenge, enjoy working in some ambiguity and thrive in an environment where intuition is highly valued along with technical skills and nous.
  • Strong knowledge of current NZ legislation and an ability to advise on a broad range of ER/IR issues
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in performance management and guiding managers through proces.
  • Suited to a professional but non-corporate environment

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Developing strong relationships with business leaders to build and implement appropriate people strategies to ensure the delivery of business plans and outcomes.
  • Helping to coach and develop managers ‘people management’ skills.
  • Managing staff review processes and exploration of ways to improve current performance reviews.
  • The preparation and creation of HR documents including confirmation of promotions, title changes, and all legally required documents in accordance with legislation. We don’t need someone who polices on policy - but you will need to be focused on achieving through process.
