Reporting to the Group WHS Manager, you will be responsible for the ongoing implementation of the WHSMS across multiple sites. Possessing strong leadership qualities, you will engage the workforce and raise awareness of safety policies, procedures and initiatives. In addition you will provide training to the state operations teams and ensure compliance across all sites, empowering them to stretch their professional capabilities and fulfil the business' strategic priorities.

DUTIES

• Manage organisational risks by implementing and maintaining robust WHS management systems and processes.
• Ensure WHS initiatives are delivered and development opportunities are identified
• Engage and influence the workforce (be visible)
• Liaise with management and key business stakeholders to continuously improve safety practices and maintain high standards across the division
• Facilitate change with an innovative approach to address problems and opportunities
• Oversee site compliance, audits and risk assessment activities
• Pro-active approach to reduce workplace incidents and injuries
• Continuously strive to improve working conditions, safety, productivity and comfort for all employees

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Strong communication and engagement skills
• Multi-site experience
• Show resilience and overcome resistance
• Experience in developing practical solutions to problems
• Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Formal qualifications in WH&S 
• Experience and technical knowledge in WHS 
• Knowledge of NZ HSEQ legislation and regulations
