This role offers an opportunity to make a difference to the Lower Hutt community. Hutt City is committed to delivering a better city every day by working in partnership with the community and coming up with fresh solutions. And there’s a lot happening from the development of great facilities like the Lower Hutt Events Centre, Community Hubs and Sportsvilles to our economic and social development projects, with even more great projects in the pipeline.
 
The Council is looking for an experienced communications professional who knows the media world inside and out. You’ll build and manage relationships with the media and be the main point of contact for all media enquiries. Your skillset will include reactive and proactive media, so you’ll be good at spotting opportunities and identifying risks.
You’ll also work on strategic projects and support the various teams across Council, so there will be lots of variety and diversity.
 
As well as excellent written and oral communications, the successful candidate will show an understanding of the importance of being customer focused as the people of Lower Hutt are central to all Council business.
