The role:
TracMap is a world leader in precision guidance systems in agriculture, horticulture, viticulture and agriculture aviation. This new role is in the TracMap Display Unit team, writing C++ software under Linux for in-vehicle devices that operators rely on for guidance, job management and tracking. The devices are used in ground vehicles, such as sprayers and harvesters, and also in helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. We integrate with an increasing range of third party hardware, including spray controllers and load cells, allowing our equipment to control and retrieve data from equipment attached to the vehicle. Technology in this sector is rapidly advancing and we have some amazing opportunities, so we’re growing the team to make our products even better.
You’ll be joining a small team of experienced engineers and a full time tester, working closely with a technical support specialist as well as the TracMap Online team. Projects are usually written in C++ under Linux, running on devices with limited resources. Any experience with embedded development, electronics or writing online services, while not essential, would also be useful background.
Your background:
- Extensive experience programming in C++ under Linux.
- A focus on building reliable and robust software.
- Able to work well with customers, sales staff and technical support.
