About the business and the role

We are looking for a dynamic and passionate DOE instructor/ programme manager to join our small, busy team. The DOE aspect of the business is growing and we require someone to continue this growth, take care of existing clients and actively participate in the programme design and instruction. This person will also assist other staff to coordinate programmes within the business.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Design and create programmes for the Adventurous Journey component for the DOE award. Currently we offer tramping but we are keen to expand the portfolio of activities on offer.
  • Meet with school DOE coordinators and run face to face meetings with interested students
  • Coordinating all bookings from initial enquiry through to DOE programme completion. This includes phone calls, emails, medical forms, website bookings management.
  • Ensure all accommodation/ transport/ gear lists required are booked and organised.
  • Regular office meetings
  • Instruct on as many DOE programmes as possible

Skills and experience

  • A good understanding of the DOE award
  • Previous tramping experience in the North Island preferable
  • Outdoor Instructor experience essential
  • Previous office work experience including strong computer skills in outlook, excel and word
  • Full NZ drivers license, P endorsement a bonus
  • Be a New Zealand citizen or be able to work in New Zealand for at least 2 years
  • A good command of the English language
  • A clean police vetting record
  • Multitasking skills essential
