The opportunity
Here at Auckland Council, our leisure centres play a key role in achieving our goal of getting more Aucklanders, more active, more often. And right now we’re looking for Learn to Swim Instructors across Auckland to help achieve that goal!
This is a fantastic job where you don’t need any formal qualifications or experience – just a passion to work with our diverse community and make a difference!
About you
If you do have a recognised swim teacher qualification or previous experience as swimming instructor, that’s great – but if you don’t that’s fine too as we’ll provide all of the training you need to do the job! You’ll have a first aid certificate. What you need is a love of water, a commitment to exceptional customer service and an ability to communicate well with adults and children.

Part-time working minimum 2 hours per week during term time and casual opportunities are available. Our Swim School is a seven day per week operation, therefore flexibility and commitment to working weekdays, weekends and rostered hours is paramount.

- Takapuna Pools and Leisure Centre
- Glenfield Pools and Leisure Centre
- Birkenhead Pools and Leisure
- Tepid Baths, CBD
- Manurewa Pools and Leisure Centre
- Moana-Nui-A Kiwa Pool and Leisure Centre
- West Wave Pool and Leisure Centre
