Critical Care Small Animal Shift Nurse
Rangiora Vet Centre provides a BESTPractice Accredited hospital, we are dedicated to offering excellence in patient care, client service and staff wellbeing. We work hard on maintaining a close, friendly team and encourage our team members to develop and grow their passions.
We operate a 24-hour, on-site staffing for our small animal patients. We have an exciting position available in in our nursing team. We are seeking someone whom is positive, proactive, trustworthy and self-motivated with the ability to remain calm and triage calls and competently deal with emergencies.
The ideal applicant will have clinical experience with skills such as IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, anaesthesia, nursing critical patients, management of feeding tubes, drains and chest tubes, pain assessment and monitoring patients recovering from surgery. We are very well resourced with all the equipment you would expect from a hospital standard practice.
Shifts consistent of a 4-day time shift followed by 4 days off, 4 evening shifts and then a further 4 days off. You will be part of a 4-team member nursing rotation with 3 dedicated vets.
Because of the shift rotation you get to work with the day team on a regular basis which helps with up-skilling and your development but clearly, we will also provide additional training and an induction period will be provided with the full support from our dedicated team of nurses.
Rangiora Vet Centre strives to deliver excellence to its very loyal clients and is situated on the door step of Christchurch with less than an hour from Canterbury’s natural play ground that provides skiing, fishing, boating, mountain biking, hunting, and hiking.
