SIDDC is a partnership between Lincoln University, DairyNZ, Ravensdown, LIC, Plant & Food Research, AgResearch and SIDE (a network of South Island Dairy Farmers) whose purpose is to lead tomorrow’s dairy farming practices: demonstrating economic, environmental, social and cultural responsibility.
The SIDDC board of directors are recruiting for a General Manager to lead the operation of the South Island Dairying Development Centre and the Lincoln University Demonstration Dairy Farm (LUDF).
Communication, leadership and on-farm operational excellence are key requirements of the role which focusses on harnessing the complementary capabilities and activities of the SIDDC partners to:
- Optimise LUDF performance by implementing leading research and practice, and
- Engage with the community, demonstrating accountability and
- Collaborate with related stakeholder activities.
LUDF is a commercial demonstration farm, operated by SIDDC on behalf of Lincoln University. The farm is well known across New Zealand for maintaining comparatively high profitability while reducing its environmental footprint. Having successfully scaled up research from the P21 phase 2 programme, the farm is now embarking on ‘next practice’.
