Detail information about job Veterinarian. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • Are you a recent Graduate?
  • Are you feeling unsupported?
  • Do you want to provide high standards of care for your patients, but just don’t have the time in a 15-minute consult?

We have a new vacancy in our progressive, caring inner city Wellington clinic, available from September 2018. This position would suit a Vet with 1-2 years experience who can manage their own cases, but you will also get excellent support from our team of Senior Vets and Vet Nurses.

You will be a proactive Companion Animal Veterinarian, with a passion for preventative healthcare and experience in providing a full range of diagnosis & treatment options to your clients. You will be comfortable managing both surgical & medical cases and be the happiest when managing the care of patients whose owners are highly motivated and engaged.

You will have access to a full suite of in- house blood chemistry analysers, full body and dental digital radiology and an ultrasound. We have a great relationship with our local referral veterinary hospital and local referral clinicians (providing support in the area of feline medicine, dentistry, ophthalmology and dermatology).

Tasman Street Vet Centre is a progressive clinic where preventative medicine is not just talked about but actually practiced every day.

We were one of the first clinics to adopt WSAVA vaccination protocols back in 2010 and we are the only Wellington practice with IFSM Feline Friendly status. We are unique in our 30minute consultation approach, allowing our Vets the time to truly provide excellent standards of care. We consider all contributing factors to our patient’s health from nutrition to behaviour to environment.

What are we looking for?

  • We’re looking for someone who can formulate treatment plans in a fast and logical way and can guide clients’ decision making with their exceptional ‘bedside manner’,
  • We need an excellent communicator who will make our clients feel confidant and informed.
  • We need an empathetic Vet who can formulate treatment plans that take into account the needs of the client and the patient.

Locum Vets have often complimented us on being a great place to work. We have a small and friendly team and a wonderful client base. If you are a people person, are diligent and show initiative in the workplace, then you’ll fit in just fine!

We offer very few weekend hours (currently open Saturday mornings only) and are fully supported by the Wellington After Hours Clinic for other night & weekend work. The position is 30- 35 hours per week in order to allow a great work life balance.
