Turf is commonly known as instant lawn, rollout lawn or ready lawn. Our client supplies Turf locally to the Manawatu and also areas such as Whanganui, Wellington, Kapiti Coast, Hawkes Bay and Taupo.

Our client is currently looking for a Turf labourer in their growing business. This role is full time, 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday and may include occasional Saturdays during busy periods. There is an opportunity for the right person is available to turn this temporary assignment to a permanent position.

The duties for this role include:

• Ground cultivation and preparation
• Deliveries of Turf and installation
• Fertiliser application
• Mowing - experience operating ride on lawn mowers
• Weed control: manual removal and spraying
• Setting up of irrigation systems
• Harvesting turf including driving harvester, stacking and wrapping turf for transport
• Machinery Maintenance
• Customer Service
• Loading/Unloading vehicles
• General farm duties as required including Christmas tree planting, pruning and harvesting

Suitable candidates will have the following:

• Tractor operating experience
• Forklift experience and a valid OSH forklift licence
• Be physically fit, able to lift 15-18kgs repetitively
• Previous labouring experience
• Turf experience is a bonus
• Good presentation
• Full Class 1 Drivers Licence
• Clean Criminal Record some driving charges maybe okay
• Great work ethic
• Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
• Supply 2 work related references
