Key Assets are looking for Specialist Foster Carers in Otautahi/Christchurch for a new 1:1 intensive programme.
What is the 1:1intensive programme?
•A Foster Care service for tamariki/children and rangatahi/young people in Otautahi/Christchurch • The tamariki/children and rangatahi/young people will have significant high and complex behaviours and most have had multiple placements.
• The tamariki/children and rangatahi/young people require people who will walk beside them, support them to help them develop a sense of safety, trust and attachment and someone who wont give up on them.
• Long term Foster Care - tamariki/child or rangatahi/young person will be placed with you for a minimum of 24 months.
•The carers will have a team supporting them including Key Assets staff and professionals from other organisations.
Initial requirements for this role are (further assessments and checks will be required through the process) -You must be a NZ citizen or a permanent resident.
-Be 30 years old or older.
-Have a full drivers licence
-Have a spare bedroom (as children will live with you) -No other tamariki/children and rangatahi/young people residing in the home under the age of 14 years old.
-Specialist carers must reside in Otautahi/Christchurch
- We need people who are not working and can commit 100% to the tamariki/child or rangatahi/young person placed in their care (can be still working through the assessment process).
As a Specialist Foster Carer with Key Assets you will receive
*A significantly enhanced foster carer allowance *High level of planned respite days *Supportive ongoing training and development including training in trauma informed care
*24/7 support including an on call system *Allocated Key Assets social worker who will be in contact with you every week *Dedicated youth work every week for the tamariki/children and rangatahi/young person in your care *Weekly therapeutic support for the carers
As the tamariki/children and rangatahi/young people have significant complex behaviours people interested in this role must have some understanding and/or experience of working with tamariki/children and rangatahi/young people who have experienced abuse and trauma
