Full Time - Whangarei

Are you looking for an exciting new practice opportunity? The Open Home Foundation is currently seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a national team. The successful applicant will be based in Whangarei. The focus of this position is to advise and support caregivers as they create permanent homes for the children and young people in their care.
This is a rewarding and satisfying role for someone who is skilled in; advocacy, advising, relationship building, and who relishes self-managing roles whilst still being part of a wider team. The job will comprise 30 hours permanency work and 10 hours caregiver support (writing caregiver assessments, supporting the local Oranga Tamariki Care Team).
If you are someone who enjoys journeying with people and have a passion to see families and children well-supported, then this may well be the position for you.
OHF is committed to mobilising the mainstream Christian community to serve Tamariki and Whānau in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The successful applicant will have:
· A Social Workers Registration Board recognised Social Work Qualification
· Knowledge and experience in Care and Protection Social Work
· Good knowledge of The Oranga Tamariki Act 1989 and its Family Court processes
· An in-depth understanding of how the role recognises the special relationship between Māori and Tauiwi
