Please note:  This role is located in Greymouth on the West Coast of NZ.  Our preferred candidate will either live locally or relocate for this role.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, you will lead Community Development encompassing all aspects of community engagement and management of the Westland Recreation Centre, Spring Creek Pool, Library and Museum. In addition, you will lead the Corporate Planning and Economic Development function, focusing on promotion of district economic development activities, leading strategic planning and plan implementation and the compilation of Council’s LTP, Annual Plan and reporting processes as a hands-on function.

 

Your Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a strategic thinker with proven leadership experience. You will be outcome driven with an innovative streak. A background in community development, excellent communication skills, and exposure to the local government environment are essential to success in this role, as is your ability to motivate and engage with your team and community. Ideally you will have a relevant tertiary qualification but of equal importance will be your energy and drive to make a positive impact within your community.
