The Motor Neurone Disease Association of New Zealand (MND NZ) started over 30 years ago and is a not-for-profit organisation offering information, advocacy and support to people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and those supporting their care.
Motor Neurone Disease is a life limiting condition involving complex needs related to health and disability and the support role is varied and can be demanding. The role would suit people comfortable with the issues involved with palliative care and who bring a range of appropriate life experience to the position.

This is a home based, part time position requiring the ability to work flexible hours (approximately 30hr per week) supporting adults with MND, their families and the service providers involved with their care.
Support Team members need to be independent, reliable and self-motivated with efficient administrative skills. You will work from home and need adequate space to do so whilst maintaining standards of confidentiality. Excellent organisational and problem solving skills are vital as is flexibility and the ability to travel and stay away on occasion. Some overnight trips are part of the role to visit clients and provide support across the DHB areas covered.
Applicants need excellent written and spoken communication skills along with functional skills with current technology. A current driving licence is necessary. A car is provided as part of the remuneration package along with tools necessary for the job. The Auckland based National Office provides ongoing support.
