Job Summary
Here is a great chance to make a real and positive difference in this full-time leadership role that requires a resilient, flexible and pro-active person preferably with a background in the not-for-profit or social work sectors.
About the role
The role leads the practice and operational management in a range of Barnardos Child & Family Services in line with Barnardos guiding principles and strategic plan. The role includes the day to day running of site matters including vehicles, hard assets and contracts.
Duties
- Lead and manage a team of professional staff
- Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders
- identify and project plan new developments/business opportunities
- maintain accurate reporting within prescribed timeframes
Skills and experience
- appropriate relevant tertiary qualifications, and/or business management qualifications
- a demonstrated ability to supervise staff, and lead and develop teams to work with at risk youth
- an ability to build and maintain successful, productive professional relationships
- proven financial management skills and expertise
- a sound understanding of the social services environment with a cultural/Te Ao Maori lens and a strong connection to Te Ao Maori
- a desire to establish, maintain and improve whānau connections
- previous experience in not-for-profit sector desirable
- a strong understanding of young people’s rights and issues
- effective planning and organisational skills
- highly skilled computer and keyboard skills
- excellent communication skills
- a current clean full driver’s licence
