About the role
Based in west Auckland, you will be providing support to Pasifika clients living in the community in both Waitemata and Auckland districts. Our support workers provide support to make positive changes in our clients lives, by helping them identify their strengths, desires and to help set goals and plan the necessary steps to achieve them. You'll be flexible to work weekends and evenings if required.
There is two permanent opportunities available, full-time 40 hours per week.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident and compassionate to work in our service.
You'll naturally be a problem solver, quick thinker and enjoy connecting with the community. You'll use your non judgemental attitude and belief to encourage clients to change and grow.
What you need:
- It's desirable that you'll have a level 4 or 5 qualification in Mental Health and Addiction, however if you're passionate about our organisation and you're willing to work towards a qualification we'll support you as much as we can
- It's essential that you have a full New Zealand driver's licence
- Strong computer skills, a 'can-do' attitude and be able to demonstrate strong personal and professional boundaries
- Demonstrated commitment to recovery model and Pasifika care model
- Demonstrated commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and culturally safe practice
- Knowledge and experience supporting mental health clients from Pasifika cultures
- Knowledge of community resources available to Pasifika people
