Advance Training Centres (ATC) offers Youth Guarantee programmes to learners from 16 – 19 years old at levels 1 and 2 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework in Foundation and Vocational Pathways in Social and Community Services. We are a looking for motivated, enthusiastic and active tutors/teachers who have a passion for education, physical fitness and the outdoors to join our team in making a difference and changing lives through the power of learning.
We aim to equip students with a range of life and workplace skills and physical training skills which can lead to a career within the Defence Forces or within other community services. This is achieved through a mixture of classroom based, outdoor education and engagement with community activities.
There are full and part time roles available that involve teaching and leading daily physical training with a cohort of youth students.
We are currently looking for tutors for our New Lynn and Manukau campuses.
The Role
- Plan, deliver and evaluate an innovative, motivational and supportive learning experience
- Assess learner achievement, record and report the results
- Lead and participate in daily physical training/outdoor activities
- Design, development and review course materials
- Assessment design and moderation
Your Profile
- Experience working with Maori and Pacific Youth
- Hold a level 4 or above qualification in Recreation or Fitness
- Hold a National Certificate in Adult Teaching or a commitment to study towards one
- Hold National Certificate in Adult Literacy Education or a commitment to study towards one
- New Zealand Defence Force experience preferred, but not essential
- Experience and knowledge of the New Zealand tertiary education sector
- Experience in personal/fitness training and coaching
