DIVISION OF HEALTH SCIENCES
We are seeking a new Lecturer in Hauora Māori to join the team in Kōhatu, Centre for Hauora Māori, situated within the University of Otago’s Division of Health Sciences.
The Associate Dean (Māori) / Director of Kōhatu, is seeking an enthusiastic lecturer to work within our interdisciplinary team to develop and deliver key components of Hauora Māori teaching, research and service. Teaching will have a focus on health professional programmes taught in the Dunedin campus in particular Medicine, Pharmacy, the Bachelor of Health Science and others.
The Role
Key duties as a Lecturer in Kōhatu, Centre for Hauora Māori include:
• Development, delivery and assessment of Hauora Māori curriculum (Medicine, Pharmacy, Bachelor Health Science, others).
• Development of teaching resources for use across years and across programmes.
• Building and maintaining relationships associated with Hauora Māori teaching and research.
• Grow Hauora Māori research through research leadership, supervision of research students, grant writing, publication writing, research collaborations and research translation and dissemination.
• Contributing into the wider team roles including support for growing numbers of Māori students.
Your Skills and Experience
• Committed to excellence in research-led teaching and have proven teaching ability.
• Committed to excellence in research and have proven research ability/excellence within the field of Hauora Māori.
• Hold a Masters, PhD or equivalent research qualification (Medical or Non-Medical health professionals will be considered).
• Proficient in te reo Māori me ōnā tikanga.
