Investment Specialist

Harbour Asset Management is a highly respected New Zealand based investment manager managing funds for large government institutions, corporate superannuation funds, charities, KiwiSaver Schemes and retail investors through financial advisers and mezzanine platforms.

The position:

Integral to the company’s client focus is the newly created position of Investment Specialist. Based in Auckland, this role is directly responsible for close liaison with a broad range of Harbour's stakeholders, including clients, consultants, brokers and advisers. This is a senior position that will play a key part in developing the Harbour franchise and advancing the business towards the goal of becoming the 'Most Trusted' by clients.

As the Investment Specialist you will:

• build deep relationships with Harbour's clients, investment consultants, and distribution partners
• create and maintain sustainable investment solutions and develop distribution relationships
• communicate Harbour’s investment philosophy, processes, portfolios and research
• collaboratively develop and implement product marketing plans 
• identify and follow through on business development opportunities
• act as fiduciary for client portfolios and help to maintain and develop the Harbour brand

Candidate profile:

This position will best suit someone coming from within the investment management industry, ideally from a client facing, relationship based role. We also welcome interest from those in front office, and other investment roles, who are keen to focus their time on building client relationships.

Specifically, we are interested in speaking to candidates who have the following profile:

• Significant experience within funds management, ideally within a client facing or a front office role. You must be knowledgeable, credible and able to converse confidently on broad investment matters.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will have had experience presenting to small and large audiences.
• Deeply embedded client focus and service orientation.
• Strong understanding of New Zealand's regulatory environment.
• Excellent inter-personal skills and an adaptable communication style - you will be interacting with a diverse range of people internally and externally.
• A collegial approach and a team orientation.
• Conscientious with a desire to produce high quality output.
