Rural Transport Manager

DT Kings Transport Ltd has an 80 year history in the transport and contracting industry in Southland and Otago.

The Rural Transport Manager is a new role which has arisen from the continued growth of the business. Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for planning and directing the rural transport functions which include the Lime Works, Gravel, Bulk, Stock, and Fertiliser Sowing divisions. This role will be based in Pukemaori, Western Southland.

Leading, managing and developing the team is another important requirement of the role, so you will have previous experience in a leadership role. You will also ensure health and safety practices are maintained and improved.

Other key skills, experience and attributes required for this role are:

• Ability to build and maintain relationships with staff and customers
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams 
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills 
• Financially literate with budget management experience
• Able to work well under pressure.

Ideally you will have experience in the rural transport industry, or a have a working knowledge of the environment.
