In this role you will responsible for leading financial analysis to support capital allocation, capital structure and long term value generation within Z. You will have strong corporate experience including in financial modelling, valuation and wider corporate finance disciplines along with a relevant tertiary qualification. In addition to logical problem solving you need to be able to adapt quickly, mange competing priorities and have the ability to identify opportunities to contribute to financial issues across the wider business.

Role purpose

This role is responsible for the provision of financial analysis to support capital allocation, capital structure and long term value generation within Z.

Specifically this encompasses:

  • Provide analysis to support potential capital investments, including project value analysis, project pipeline prioritisation, sensitivities and risk analysis
  • Building, reviewing and enhancing financial models to support the ongoing company-wide strategy development, with a focus on maximising shareholder value.
  • Support the financial aspect of business cases including providing assurance, developing financial models and drafting sections of the business case.
  • Maintaining Z’s corporate valuation models including the regular updating of assumption sets that feed into these
  • Provide financial analysis to support Group capital structure decision making.

Role responsibilities


  • Support the assessment of financial valuation and capital allocation initiatives across Z through modelling, analysis, inquiry and challenging assumptions to enable Leaders to prioritise investment options that maximize shareholder value for Z.
  • Developing robust valuation models for use in business cases based on best practice modelling principles.
  • Reporting on project value (benefits) during project execution and following the completion of projects through post investment reviews, tracking the difference in value compared to the approved business case.
  • Maintain Z’s valuation model as required.
  • Provide equity analysis to support Z’s communication with the Investment Community
  • Provide financial analysis to support external reporting and ad hoc queries
  • Providing support to the reforecasting and annual planning process
  • Recognised as a specialist corporate finance analyst across Z and will respond to required corporate finance requests including the development and maintenance of financial models.

Skills & Experience


Experience Required
  • Strong corporate financial modelling experience including demonstrated experience in valuation and wider corporate finance disciplines
  • Has a logical approach to complex problem solving
  • Strong in applied quantitative economics

Qualifications Required
  • Tertiary qualified in Finance or related discipline with at least 3-5 years finance experience. Professional qualification preferred (eg. CFA)
  • Strong corporate financial modelling experience including demonstrated experience in valuation and wider corporate finance disciplines
  • Has a logical approach to complex problem solving
  • Strong in applied quantitative economics
  • Contributes pro-actively to wider team building
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to identify opportunities to contribute to financial issues across the wider business
  • Advanced Excel experience, Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, BI
