This large infrastructure company plays a vital role in the Hawkes Bay economy.  Serving a wide customer base they deliver supply chain solutions that provide the region with a gateway to the world.  They are seeking an experienced and innovative Commercial Manager to lead their business development team and to be a key member of the Senior Leadership team.

Reporting to the CEO, the Commercial Manager leads a team responsible for attracting and retaining customers, maintaining mutually beneficial commercial relationships with suppliers, and engaging with a wide group of stakeholders.  They will develop supply chain solutions that deliver revenue and profit growth and enhance the customer’s supply chain.

 

The Commercial Manager will be passionate about identifying and developing new business from within and outside the Hawkes Bay region.  They will be able to build confidence with potential and existing customers through their knowledge of the extended supply chain, developing innovative solutions that ensure long-term customer loyalty. 

 

An important aspect of the role is to be an advocate for the customer internally and work to improve processes and systems to enhance the customer experience.  They will also be a strong advocate for health & safety.

 

The Commercial Manager will be a key contributor to the company’s strategic direction and will be able to bring leading edge thinking to the Senior Leadership Team that captures opportunities for growth and for providing value to customers.

 

Candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds but must have an in-depth understanding of the export supply chain.

 

The successful candidate will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Proven track record of delivering revenue growth through customer acquisition and retention
  • Experience as a member of a senior leadership team
  • An in-depth knowledge of the supply chain in the export sector
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Evidence of working well with other functions to improve processes and systems
  • Innovative and at the forefront of market and supply chain developments
  • Excellent communication skills including confidence as a presenter
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and evidence of continued professional development
