Background in consenting, with experience in both District and Regional plans?

BTW Company (BTW) has put its roots down in Hamilton and now needs an Intermediate Planner ready and motivated to provide excellent service to existing and new clients.

Operating since 1973, BTW is an innovative, solutions-focused group of Planners, Surveyors, Engineers, Environmental Scientists, UAV pilots, 3D Scanning Specialists, and Land and GIS experts. BTW’s staff of over 60 professionals are leaders in their fields with unparalleled experience on projects, both in New Zealand and overseas. BTW’s multidisciplinary teams operate from offices in New Plymouth and Hamilton.

YOU WILL ALSO:

  • Contribute to planning projects and provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
  • Prepare feasibility studies for potential projects and provide expert advice to clients.
  • Representation of clients at Council hearings where necessary.
  • Carry out community and iwi consultation, including preparation of consultation documentation.
  • Provide Planning Policy services to clients in the form of policy analysis, submissions and representation at plan review hearings.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a planning position, preferably with both District/City Council and Regional Council planning exposure.
  • To be working your way towards full membership with the New Zealand Planning Institute.
  • The ability to develop and sustain strong relationships with staff, customers, and contractors.
  • To be motivated, professional, cooperative, and responsive to the needs of the team and clients.
