With the Horowhenua District experiencing a new level of growth and several key strategic projects currently underway or on the horizon, the opportunity has arisen for an exceptional Strategic Planner to join our busy and high performing team. The role will have a strong focus in 2018 on contributing to Council’s key strategic growth projects such as the Levin Town Centre Strategy and the Growth Strategy, together with preparing District Plan changes.
Reporting to the Group Manager Strategy & Development this permanent full time role will be responsible for assisting with the strategic planning direction of our Council through input into key strategic projects and plans, including the District Plan and Long Term Plan. In addition to providing resource management advice you will be actively involved in community and stakeholder engagement processes building positive relationships.
The role will suit someone with a Planning/Resource Management/Public Policy qualification and experience in local government within Strategic Planning or Resource Management. Experience in developing Long Term Plans or District Plan policy and implementation, and experience undertaking community and stakeholder engagement is essential as is knowledge of relevant legislation.
