Our client is looking for self-motivated Transmission Lines Team Leaders to manage their Transmissions teams based in Hamilton.

The role

Maintaining an Electrical Transmission Network, our client is experiencing sustained growth and is looking to add Transmission Team Leads to their experienced and established operations in Hamilton.

We are currently seeking experienced and qualified Transmission Lines Team Leaders to direct and support the transmission teams in the construction, maintenance, upgrade and repair of the Transmission network across the Hamilton, Rotorua, Warkworth region and the wider North Island as required region. You will provide technical support, scoping and planning assistance as required and will be responsible for managing and delivering work safely, positively, effectively and efficiently. You will ensure that the plant and equipment is compliant, in good working order and fit for purpose by completing tool box checks as required.

You will have strong interpersonal skills in diverse environments, will demonstrate integrity, trust and act with consistency and composure. You will need to be a proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills, be able to cope with the physical demands of the role, have an excellent attendance and safety record and a clean NZ driver's licence.

With a variety of work, there will be requirement for overtime, weekend work and away trips depending on the projects and the workload. If you are a motivated Team Leader with a 'can do, will do' attitude, then please apply today.

Duties:

• To direct and manage the construction and maintenance of Transmission lines according to the customer requirements in a timely, appropriate and efficient manner.
• To direct and manage transmission installation and maintenance work
• Guidance, supervision and managing the team and directing their activities
• Meet customer and regulatory requirements
• Adherence to best practices
• Maintain field paperwork, reports and inspection documentation
• Compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements

Skills and experience:

• Proven experience in New Zealand Transmission with ability to lead and manage teams
• New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply; E1 minimum, E2 preferred
• Experience on Transpower assets an advantage
• Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to organise and plan own workload and the workload of others to achieve results
• Critical thinking and contemplative skills with the ability to solve problems and make decisions
• Safety conscious with ability to pro-actively promote a safety culture
• Full New Zealand Class 1 driver's licence; Class 2 an advantage
