The Opportunity

As the Group Payroll Manager, you will be aligning yourself with one of the largest and complex businesses in New Zealand, offering you the platform to get involved across a range of projects while leading and developing a stable team.

We are looking for someone that can not only lead and develop a team and engage with external stakeholders, but also bring their senior payroll expertise to the table to review, develop and implement a great employee end to end payroll process.

This role will enable you to showcase your skills in developing strong internal controls and processes, with a key element being change management and transformation.


This is one of the largest payrolls in New Zealand and this will be an excellent addition to your CV, to partner with a high-profile business working on complex projects and leading a strong payroll team.

The Role

We are looking for someone that can not only lead and develop a team, but also bring their senior payroll expertise to the table to create and maintain a great employee experience and engage stakeholders in developing the end to end payroll process.

This role will see you being involved across arrange of projects looking at processes, identifying opportunities, maintaining a change management strategy for the group and developing a team.

Your Profile

  • 5+ years’ experience working in Payroll at a senior level
  • Have a strong understanding of NZ Payroll legislation and NZ Holiday Act
  • A good understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Proven background in developing strong internal controls and processes
  • Proven background in change management and transformation
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Exposure to working with ERP systems and various payroll software
