The Opportunity
An exciting commercial leadership appointment within a unique organisation which will test and further develop both your business management and operational acumen within a dynamic Agri-investment group with a growing and leading footprint in the NZ rural sector.
This is a key appointment that will ensure the effective management of Craigmore’s forestry and horticulture portfolios. This is a 2IC role to the GM where you will be tasked with managing business performance across a broad portfolio of Agri assets, supporting and defining growth strategy, whilst taking a key role in investments and acquisitions.

This role sits within their ever-expanding forestry and horticultural portfolios, with a growing number of assets across NZ.

The Role
You will be directly responsible for developing and managing Craigmore’s forestry and horticulture assets. This role will be autonomous, with external operational managers reporting to you both directly and indirectly. The role is broad in both remit covering key areas such as:
- General asset management and people leadership across the portfolio
- Strategy and business planning
- Forestry acquisitions and asset management
- Sector level financial planning and analysis
- Operational risk management and compliance
- Contract negotiation and support
- Project management and performance monitoring / Benchmarking

Your Profile
We are looking for a person who is capable of leading and co-ordinating with external business partners, contract managers, suppliers and internal staff members.
- Demonstrable commercial acumen with strong analytical, technical, financial and project management skills within a similar level role
- Management exposure with a portfolio or multiple entity group structure is highly desirable
- An understanding of the New Zealand forestry or horticulture sectors highly desirable
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of strategic planning and preparation of business plans
- Excellent written communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels (internal and external)
- Management experience and exposure in managing external contractors/managers
- A University Degree in agribusiness, commerce or forestry and/or proven management experience in this field
