Who are we? If you don't already know (and we super-majorly hope you do) Container Door is an exciting, ground-breaking NZ e-commerce company that is about to take on the world. We help our customers buy the cool things they want at direct-from-factory prices thanks to the power of community buying.

 

About the role

There's no denying it - these are big boots to fill. Our current rock-star social media and marketing dude is leaving us to travel to Europe. But his big opportunity is also your big opportunity. So read on, dear rock-star-in-waiting!

Your main task will be to manage our entire Facebook and Insta presence. This includes writing and creating fun, energetic posts and ads that get people's attention, stop thumbs and get results, whether it be engagement or conversion. And you'll be nurturing our customer relations by replying to FB post comments and Messenger questions.

You must have a heap of admin skills - especially experience in the back-office of Facebook. That means selecting the right audience for each ad, with the right copy and the right images, and managing the ad performance to deliver the right metrics. If you do NOT have experience placing Facebook ads, and do not know almost all of the back-office tricks, DO NOT apply for this job. Seriously.

More on the admin: you must be able to report to management about spend, strategy and results. And you will always be refining your ad strategy based on what you've learned via A/B testing and ye-olde common sense. (Yes, don't worry, we know that Facebook changes the rules frequently, that it's the wild west out there and that the moment you're comfortable in the social media space you're actually behind the curve.) But we have faith in you. Yes, we do!

You'll also be responsible for our EDMs - 3 per week, using bespoke templates. (Don't worry, even our Marketing Manager can use them - they're not too complex!) And you will be loading (and keeping an eagle eye) on the products offered on our website. Training will be given and, again, it's not hard but there's a lot of attention to detail required.

You won't be doing any of this on your own. You'll be part of a team including the big kahuna (that's Ben, CEO and founder), the Marketing Manager and the graphic design guru. All the freedom and yet all of the support. Yep, you'll be a part of EVERYTHING, not just one of a thousand minions in a grey cubicle. (Hmmm, yes, so our cubicles are actually grey, but we have a coffee machine and electric standing desks so we are officially cool. And the cubicles are the kind that you can see over, not small foie gras enclosures.)
