Dorevitch Pathology is a leading provider of pathology and diagnostic services throughout Victoria. We are currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our professional Quality Assurance Unit.

This is an exciting career opportunity for an experienced and qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist to expand on their skills and experiences and contribute to the ongoing values, compliance and quality improvement goals of the organisation.

A degree in Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent), as well as a minimum of two years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary pathology laboratory is essential.  Previous experience in any of the areas of diagnostic haematology, clinical biochemistry, clinical microbiology or histology will be highly regarded.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Organisation, performance, report preparation and follow-up of internal audits (Pre-analytical, Laboratory, Clinical Trials)
  • Participation in assessments/audits conducted by NATA/TGA and Clinical Trials clients
  • Monitoring of incidents in the electronic quality management system, Q-Pulse
  • Maintenance of controlled documents in the Q-Pulse database; assisting with changes to and distribution of controlled documentation
  • Training of staff in the CAPA process; Quality Management System and Q- Pulse Systems
  • Maintenance of the E-Learning System
  • Maintenance of the Intranet
  • A sound knowledge of NATA, NPAAC and relevant industry standards is preferred
  • Assist in compiling monthly trend analyses
  • Previous auditing experience is preferred

You will possess excellent communication skills, effective planning and organisation skills with a strong client focus.  Your adaptability, self-motivation and attention to detail will complement your technical and scientific skills in this pivotal role within our organisation.  

A working knowledge of standards AS ISO 15189, AS ISO/IEC 17025, AS/NZS ISO 31000, ISO 9001 and ICH Harmonised Guideline Integrated Addendum to ICH E6(R1): Guideline for Good Clinical Practice is preferable.

Your flexibility with hours is required as travel to regional and metropolitan Collection Centres and Laboratories is a requirement.
